Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve covers about 65 000 hectares bush bordering the Kruger National Park. It is an area of biodiversity and offers a variety of flora and fauna.
Umkumbe Safari Lodge can be found in the Sabi Sand Reserve on the banks of the Umkumbe River. The Lodge has a series of luxury chalets overlooking the river. Each is spacious and tastefully decorated with Traditional textures and tones.

About 350 species of birdlife has been recorded in the Sabi Sand Reserve. This offers guests the opportunity to view birds such as the endangered Ground Hornbill, Saddle-billed Stork, Kori Bustard, Lappet-faced Vulture and the Pel’s Fishing Owl. Animals such as the bat-eared fox, porcupine, aardvark and Honey-badger as-well-as the Big Five are available or sightings.
