Established by the More Family in 1933, passed on for generations, Lion Sands is one of the very few reserves to have a full-time ecologist devoted to the preservation of the Game reserves ecology. Lion Sands offer an authentic safari experience.
River Lodge is shaded by a clump of 800-year-old trees which come to life with in the evenings and the early hours of the morning. A variety of wonderful birds call these trees home. River Lodge offers a feel of comfort in the wild African bush.
Accommodation at River Lodge has 20 thatched luxury suites. Each suite has:

Lion Sands Game Reserve offers an African adventure filled with sightings of varied mammal species both large and small such as the elephant, the duiker, cheetah, zebra, hippopotamus and the crocodile. And over 350 species of birdlife bird.

Luxury Safaris range in a variety of prices and, as an indication of what to expect, one can pay anywhere from R2 000 to R20 000 per person per night sharing and more, depending on the choice of accommodation, season, specials and other determining factors.
